Group Size: 4 to 12 persons Route: Accra-Cape Coast-Kumasi-Mole-Tamale-Ho-Accra
Day 1: Accra
Arrival at Kotoka International Airport, Accra, where a representative from ABACAR meets group on arrival for hotel transfer. A briefing about the tour will be given over a welcome dinner. Spend the night in Accra
Day 2: Accra – Cape Coast
Accra – Cape Coast road and visit of Cape Coast castle. Spend the night in Cape Coast
Day 3: Cape Coast, Elmina, Kakum
Visit of Elmina castle and of the fishing harbour. Visit of Kakum National Park & stop over at Hans Botel resort Spend the night in Cape Coast
Day 4: Cape Coast, Foso, Bekwai, Lake Bosumtwi
Driving along the former “Slave Route” we make a stop at Assin Manso, where the slaves were kept, had a last bath in the “Donko Nsuo” before shipment to the New World. Eventually visit Obuasi (gold mine) before Lake Bosumtwi where we stop for the night Spend the night in Abonu
Day 5: Lake Bosumtwi - Kumasi
Walk on the lakeside and road to Kumasi. Visit of the Ashanti capital. Spend the night in Kumasi
Day 6: Baobeng Fiema Monkey Sanctuary
Visit of the craft villages around Kumasi and road to Baobeng Fiema Monkey Sanctuary. Spend the night in Baobeng Fiema
Day 7: Kintampo, Mole National Park
Visit of the monkey sanctuary in the morning. We then go to visit the Kintampo water falls and carry on to the Mole National Park. Spend the night in Damongo
Day 8: Mole National Park
Rise up very early in the morning to view the elephants and other protected species of the game reserve, followed by a visit to the ancient mosque and mystery stone in Larabanga. We then leave Mole to go to Tamale. Spend the night in Tamale
Day 9: Tamale, Walewale, Gambaga, Nalerigu, Nakpanduri
We go north to Walewale where we branch off east to the Gambaga escarpment. We stop in the villages of Gambaga, Nalerigu and Nakpanduri, the highest point of the escarpment. Spend the night in Nakpanduri
Day 10: Nakpanduri, Yendi, Bimbila
We are now travelling south along the Togolese border and heading for the Volta Lake, one of the largest artificial lakes in the world. We go through Yendi and stop in Bimbila for the night. Spend the night in Bimbila
Day 11: Bimbila, Dambai, Jasikan, Hohoe
We carry on to the Volta Lake to reach Dambai, Jasikan and finally the small town of Hohoe where we will spend the night. Spend the night in Hohoe
Day 12: Kpandu, Tafi Atome monkey santuary
Visit of Kpandu on the lakeside where we will have the chance to go for a ride in a fishing boat on the lake. After Kpandu we then go to Tafi Atome monkey sanctuary. Spend the night in Tafi Atome
Day 13: Ho, Amedzope, Akosombo
Visit of Tafi Atome monkey sanctuary early in the morning and we go to Ho on the way to the highest village in Ghana: Amedzope (nearly 600m high). On the road again we go to Akosombo. Spend the night in Akosombo
Day 14: Akosombo, Adidome, Sogakope, Ada
Visit of the dam in the morning and road to Adidome, Sogakope, we finally stop in Ada. Spend the night in Ada
Day 15: Ada, Accra
We spend the morning in Ada (swimming pool, seaside…) before going to Accra for a visit of the Ghanaian capital and last shopping before the flight back to Europe. Kotoka Airport, check in and departure in the evening
